Binghamton Community Dance is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization which offers contradances, English country dance and Scottish dance as participatory dances, open to the public, throughout the year. For example, a typical evening of contradance attracts 50-70 dancers of all ages representing a cross-section of our community. Our events are fun, smoke-free, and alcohol-free.
We feature fine musicians (folk-acoustic style) and dance callers from throughout the central New York region - occasionally from greater distances. To pay these dedicated performers fairly, and to keep admission prices low, we ask your support. You can help cover general operating expenses, hall rental or performer costs.
You can pay the rent for one month's dance ($75), or cover travel expenses for a band coming from far away ($100 - $250). Or underwrite an entire season ($1000). If you wish, your support will be acknowledged publicly at the event(s) you sponsor, as well as on flyers we distribute prior to that event. Also, business or organization name and contact information can be posted on our website during the months leading up to the event. Finally, our website can link to yours. Arrangements will be made at the time of your donation.
